With the BAS-200slm, your test room is continuously monitored and the CCA-200mini will accept user response to test signals only when the ambient noise is within the acceptable range. Your test record will show the ambient noise for each octave band at test time and document that the test was performed within acceptable noise levels.

The BAS-200slm Bio-Acoustic Simulator/Sound Level Meter is a dual-function instrument that creates a legal record of the daily calibration check and of compliance with OSHA ambient noise regulation 29 CFR 1910.95.

At one time, audiometer operators checked the ambient noise level at the beginning of each day. Others then took a stab at ongoing compliance with an octave band monitor that would flash a red light if the maximum permissible ambient noise levels were exceeded. Unfortunately, this approach was inadequate and didn't offer anything close to seamless integration. In comparison, the BAS-200slm monitors and documents ambient noise throughout each Hearing Conservation test with the utmost flexibility, by automatically:

• Meeting ANSI standards for both sound level meters and octave band filters
• Documenting compliance with OSHA regulations
• Demonstrating in each report that ambient noise levels were not exceeded
• Storing ambient noise levels with audiogram data, and
• Supporting OSHA, ANSI, or user-defined maximum permissible ambient noise levels for Hearing Conservation
