To begin with, specifications are based on one million presses—this represents approximately one year of rugged use in a mobile van environment. Along with wear, noise is also a factor. If the hand switch creates an audible sound it could throw off the entire Hearing Conservation test. For this reason, Benson Medical Instruments has created a noiseless hand switch.
