WE FOCUS ON
WHAT REALLY MATTERS

Research and development have been, and continue to be, Benson Medical Instruments’ foundation. We were first to create an audiometer with bi-directional communications allowing data to automatically flow both ways. This breakthrough in “Intelligent Automation” allowed for increased efficiency and greater accuracy.

With four on-staff engineers, Benson Medical Instruments continues to be at the vanguard of new product innovation while continuously making improvements on the current audiometric product line.

 RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT—
ALIVE AND WELL AT
BENSON MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS!

At Benson Medical Instruments we believe the best service support team is also involved in product development and manufacturing. As a result, each team member knows what goes into producing each audiometric product offering. Team members are also aware of the “whys” and “why nots” of ongoing benefit/feature development. This makes it possible for your operators to receive up-to-the-moment product support.

And an automatic feedback system is systematically created when your ongoing product input is incorporated into future audiometric product developments.

This ongoing system of listening closely to your input and then responding with a seamlessly integrated approach has resulted in the creation of Solo™—the best Hearing Conservation testing data collection system available today.

DOING IT ALL:
SOLO™ OCCUPATIONAL DBMS

Solo gives your operator the tools to automatically keep your Hearing Conservation program in compliance with OSHA regulations. You can produce reports and notification letters in 12 languages based on subjects’ individual results. Ease of use is evident in Solo’s design, with all subjects and audiograms conveniently displayed in the main program window. Now your operator can search for subjects by name or Social Security number. And simply clicking on an audiogram will show current results in comparison to the baseline audiogram.

Transferring an audiogram from the van audiometer has never been easier. Simply press a button to automatically transfer the data and print the report of choice, even while your operator is editing data.

Solo has a comprehensive selection of reports, and test results can be displayed several different ways with numerous Subject reports and letters. Company reports demonstrate results for the entire company. Solo can help you administer an effective Hearing Conservation program by:

  • Printing notification letters in 12 languages
  • Producing individual and summary reports
  • Managing programs for multiple companies
  • Customizing medical history questionnaires and lookup tables
  • Calculating impairments, standard threshold shifts, recordable shifts, and medical referrals
  • Transferring hearing data from the van audiometer
  • Meeting and documenting OSHA compliance regulations—easily and economically

POWERFUL BUILT-IN FEATURES

  • Manages an unlimited number of companies
  • Documents subject’s ‘aural history’ with customizable Medical History questionnaire incorporating user-defined questions
  • Saves your data—conveniently via Backup and Restore features—to removable media or network location
  • Stores any chosen data with extensive user-defined fields
  • Includes generous space for comments
  • Reduces typing with lookup lists and field defaults
  • Ensures accurate data entry with built-in data validation safeguards

AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS

Solo implements the NHCA Professional Guide for Baseline Revision (2000), saving your operator from the time-consuming process of manual baseline revision. Use of the NHCA guidelines gives your Hearing Conservation program the uniform and well-thought-out approach to analysis that is encouraged by NHCA and CAOHC.

  • Supports OSHA Recordable 29CFR 1904.10 regulation
  • Implements NHCA Baseline Revision
  • Incorporates separate or same baseline for each ear
  • Includes optional age correction (presbycusis)
  • Delivers selectable retest period
  • Allows for settings settable by company

DATA IMPORT/EXPORT—
THE ULTIMATE IN FLEXIBILITY

Solo can be used as a master database for integration of data from your current van-based audiometers, or from third-party databases.

  • Define custom import and export formats
  • Built-in formats for trading data with leading Hearing Conservation databases
  • Data may be manually entered from keyboard

INDUSTRY INNOVATOR WITH
“SEAMLESS SOUND SOLUTIONS”

FOR ALL YOUR
HEARING CONSERVATION NEEDS

Once considered the “new kid on the block,” Benson Medical Instruments has now become the established leader with the only seamlessly integrated Hearing Conservation testing system available today. Maybe this is the reason why the U.S. Military continues to choose Benson Medical Instruments as its sole developer and maintainer of occupational audiometry equipment purchased since 1997. Or maybe it’s because Benson Medical Instruments continues to be at the forefront of important audiometry design breakthroughs.

BENSON MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS WAS THE FIRST TO:

  • Deliver an industrial audiometer that seamlessly integrates the ability to test, store all data, and output all reports from one easy-to-use piece of equipment.
  • Create an IntelliTesting™ feature that automatically scans audiograms for test problems, and responds with appropriate solutions.
  • Incorporate seven standard languages, and now we’re up to 12 (in a stand-alone instrument). The CCA-220 Plus audiometer can even accommodate 20 additional factory-installed languages, and has the ability to hold 32 more, easily installed by you!
  • Develop a system for ambient noise level compliance that meets ANSI standards for sound level meters. Now you can continuously monitor ambient noise and produce automatic, ongoing compliance for effective “quiet room” testing.
  • Support new OSHA recordable regulations and NHCA/CAOHC baseline revision guidelines.

Most importantly, Benson Medical Instruments was the first to produce a Hearing Conservation testing system that is so comprehensive and integrated it is “seamless” in its application. We’ve brought the art and science of Hearing Conservation testing into the 21st century—where they belong.
